The event was dedicated to the development of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The forum brought together experts, diplomats, public figures, and representatives of the academic community from both countries.
The event was organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the “Azerbaijan Center” Public Foundation, with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aktau.
At the official opening ceremony, welcoming remarks were delivered by Ilkin Orujov, Director of the Azerbaijan Center; the leadership of Yessenov University; the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aktau; Shamsadin Huseynov, Chairman of the “Dostlug” Ethnocultural Association; and Eldar Jafarov, an expert from Baku.
During the forum, participants learned about the activities of the Azerbaijan Center at Yessenov University. Special emphasis was placed on the first graduating class of the dual-degree program in “International Relations,” implemented jointly with Baku State University.
The main program of the forum comprised three panel sessions during which experts discussed the following issues:
Special attention during discussions was given to the prospects of developing cooperation in the Caspian macro-region, strengthening connectivity between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, preserving shared historical and cultural values, and enhancing academic links.
